Harlem, USA was my home.

During my time there, I attended a salon in honor of the legendary Ms. Nina Simone.

It was a magical night where I was exposed to Politics, Art, Music, Poetry and Dancing!

It was quite the bohemian crowd.

The spread was as impressive as every other aspect that made up this unforgettable affair and the women...oh the women! They were remarkable.

As a friend put it, all the people there were so “Otherly.” And so, the idea was birthed.

Over the years I’d come to know many beautiful and interesting women. They would become my friends. They were all so uniquely talented and individual. This series is an homage to them.
